What is the difference between blackheads and whiteheads?

Meaning as in why do sometimes blackheads form, and why do whiteheads form....Also, which one is worse in your opinion??What is the difference between blackheads and whiteheads?
When the trapped sebum and bacteria stay below the skin surface, a whitehead is formed. Whiteheads may show up as tiny white spots, or they may be so small that they are invisible to the naked eye.





A blackhead occurs when the pore opens to the surface, and the sebum, which contains the skin pigment melanin, oxidizes and turns a brown/black color. It is not dirt and can not be washed away. Blackheads can last for a long time because the contents very slowly drain to the surface.What is the difference between blackheads and whiteheads?

Has to do with pressure in the infected pore. Talk to your doctor about acne treatment, no one should ever have to suffer from acne when there are things out there to help clear it up!
i think that blackheads form from collected dirt within your pours, and whiteheads are caused from 'stress' and oils. in my opinion, a blackhead is worse, because a whitehead you can usually pop, but it is very hard to get rid of a blackhead, because they are kind of underneath, while whiteheads are on top of the surface of your skin.
i personally think that blackheads are worse for me because i dont have bad acne or breakouts, but i have blackheads all over my nose that i cant get rid of.


i do get breakouts of whiteheads around my period, which are usually painful waterzits, or large whiteheads that tend to bleed.

Not one hundred per cent sure what causes white heads, but black heads are dirt trapped in open pores between the skin. General rule, you can pop white heads but not blackheads
One has a black head, the other a white head
Ones are white , the Others are black .
